I am planning on re-doing my antenna selection in the shack from manual to
automatic via the Orion rear band data connector.
I need to select one of two antennas dependent on the operating band. 20
through 10 should select my beam and 160 through 30 meters should select my
wire antennas.
The band data connector is open collector active low per the book. Can I just
connect the 160 through 30 meter wires together to select one path and the 20
through 10 meter to select the other path or do I need isolating diodes in each
line?
Does anyone have any knowledge of this animal being made, and if so, would the
"band data one connector" drive this auto coax switch. The switch would have to
withstand 1KW as it would be used after my amp.
Ten Tec sell one but it is much too expensive and it's 4 ports, I only need two
ports.
Do I have to dig up one of my old AM T-R antenna switches? Not!
Thanks.
George
