All,

It is well known (and sad) that Orion QSK keying loop has been
incompatible with Titan-2 and Titan-3 amps. Now I'd like to know if
anyone has tested the Orion for this issue with Ver 2 installed? The
symptoms had been that relays within the Titans were unable to follow
keying, and would stumble and falter continuously. I was able to rectify
my own situation by employing a QSK-1500 pin diode antenna switcher for
perfectly silent and QRQ QSK, interfacing the jacks on the Orion to
those jacks of the QSK-1500 unit--they are perfectly matched. I have
heard that T-T explained the incompatibility between Orion and the
Titans as a 'core' problem in the system. However, I would think that
this same core problem would also cause the QSK-1500 loop to
malfunction! Now I suspect this was a gloss-over answer? With fear and
trembling, I hope some of our CW men will test this Ver 2 out. I am not
ready to try Ver 2 beta myself, because of the new issues, e.g., the 100
Hz bandwidth AF gain loss, etc... :-)
