Ok, getting it back together now.  Does seem better,
but I have a low frequency hum still--maybe it's from
the PS, as I cut the AC wires and shorted them out, so
the wires no longer run across the rig.

Anyhow, I tried to adjust the mixer balance on the
RF/Mixer board; tuning to 21.320 shows a birdie.  I
can null it somewhat, but I can't make it go away.  Is
that normal?  The birdie doesn't move the S meter, but
then again I'm not sure on the alignment on the rest
of the rig--when I kick in the 500Hz filter, I get
alot of attenuation on a CW signal, so either the amp
that compensates for that is out, or the BFO is not
where it ought to be (along with potentially other
things).
