I Agree Mike, that 5 watts is no big deal.
However, the fact the power supply trips out at 100 watts indicates a
problem.
Would you buy a radio with such a problem?
I would like to investigate the problem and try to fix it before it becomes
a bigger one.
Running the Pegasus at 100 watts into a proper load is what the transmitter
is designed to do.
Doing that should never damage anything.

5 watts will never be seen to who you are talking to. Run you're radio at
95
or even 90 and save you're radio. I wouldn't worry about 5 watts. If it
gets
down to 80, then maybe worry a little bit about it.
That current limiter has saved a lot of guys bacon over the years.

I am using a 961 power supply to power my Pegasus radio.
When I use full output power it sometimes trips the power supply on a
voice peak.
Since the antenna is less than 1.5 SWR I doubt it is because of that.
Cutting the power back to about 95 watts cures the problem.
I suspect that the limiter in the power supply is set a bit to low.
I have bought two Ten Tec radios in the last few months and both came
with a 961 power supply but no manual.
Is there a current limiter adjustment in the power supply or is it
fixed?
