dave i also have a orion 1 but i am using the studio one mic that heil  
produced for tentec. i am not sure if you can still find them new anywhere  but 
 
have had excellent audio reports with it. if you look back at some of  the 
articles written on this mic it was carefully designed to  complement the audio 
features built into the orion. send bob heil an email  and see what his 
thoughts 
are, if you would like to see what model heil would  best suit your needs.
