Denny,
Sounds like the MK-V and the Orion use the same pin outs. In any case, you
can quickly check your audio by using the "MON" button (second down on left
side next to screen). Suggest you use a set of headphones so you don't get
in audio feedback. If you have problems it will sound "crappy" to your own
ears.
I had to go through several re-iterations of wiring before I got it right.
My problems, however, were related to figuring out a switch box arrangement
where I could switch the Orion II or the Ten-Tec 526 6N2 to either a Heil
Pro Set Plus or a Heil HM-10 boom mic.

Subject: [TenTec] Heil Mic Wiring to Orion
I have a new Orion <as the group mostly knows>... When I ordered it last
week I discussed the mic situation with Stan and told him I have Heil HM
with the adapter cord for a Yaesu MK-V... He simply said, 'that will
work'...
So, knowing the reported mic problems on here it was with doubts I plugged
it in... Talked with some guys on 75 meters and everyone agreed that it
sounds fine... I have not fired up any of the beasts lurking against the
far wall yet, so we will see.. If I do get RFI I will trace out the mic
wiring and make it like the Orion manual says.. Until then, no change...
