When this happens and it's annoying try varying the bandwidth up and down 
while the notch (AN) is on. This usually does the trick. If its not annoying 
leave it alone and at some point the carrier either goes away or the auto 
notch finds it and suppresses it as it enters the passband you are currently 
tuned. The hint here is the PBT may be varied as well, so the highest tones 
and the lowest tones can be missed by the AN but once it "hears" it, the DSP 
takes it out.
