Hello,

Do a google search on the Hakko 808. It is not cheap, but works very very well on printed circuit boards as well as point to point wiring on vintage tube sets.

It is very hard to wick up solder form the usual plated thru holes used in
industrial boards today. You may need more heat on your tip, a different
tip shape or temperature rating. A solder sucker is better, (vacuum pump,
spring loaded).
