Yes, the FT-1000D has the CAT system, it however, does not havea built in 
RS-232 interface, but rather a serial TTL interface, so you need a converter 
to make it play..Several kinds will work, Yaesu, and Kenwood both sold such 
converters.Also a converter is built into the rigblaster...
