Hi,
Before I send my Omni VI/3 down to Sevierville for service, I thought I might
pose my problems for any troubleshooting advice from the group.

Problem:
Suddenly went off frequency by about 80-100kc's (low).
Contacts state there is a low frequency hum in the audio. One ham indicated he
thought it sounded like a carrier present when I attempted to transmit on
indicated frequency.

Power supply (961) checks out ok for current and voltage, but have not scoped
it yet for ripple. I also tried an Astron RS35, known good, and same problem.

This has occurred during my time trying to evaluate several logging programs
with the computer db9 hooked up direct to the serial port on the radio (db25),
per the manual. Any connection??

Have had no other issues surrounding the sudden problems.

Omni and 961 are now off line and my backup radio installed.

Thanks,
David
