thank you for your input Jim. But the TT 422 does not use a vacuum
relay.
It uses two fast relays. It uses a driver transistor to drive the
relays. This transistor is located on the QSK board.
I was looking for someone that had the same problem and their fix.
I am going to call Paul at TT next week and either order a new QSK board
or Relay board, which ever he suggest.
Thanks again Jim

I dont know the 422, but I have a lot of experience with the 425. Based on
that, Id suspect either the vacuum relay or the smaller relay that drives
the vacuum relay.
There could, of course, be a failure on the QSK board. If its like the 425,
those boards are very easy to work on, and the transistors are all pretty
standard types that are easy to replace.
Vacuum relays are available from Gigavac. You need to know the part number.
Gigavac has a special discount for hams. The last time I bought (roughly 2
yrs ago), I paid about $75 each. Ten Tec has used several different relays,
so you need to know the part number of whats in your rig. Gigavac has
replacements for both. It takes about 90 minutes to change in a Titan if
youve never done it before. BTW -- Gigavac is whats used in current
production Alpha, and Alpha told me that theyve had very good experience
with them.
The vacuum relay is my strongest suspicion.
