I presume that TenTec has an FCC approved mod given out only to licensed hams that substitutes a different filter or your jumper. That series tuned trap in the present filter is probably resonant at 27 MHz to be sure it can't be driven easily on that band. The book also says the plate tank needs a modification for 10m. FCC rules preclude making that information generally available. Tentec may have to see a copy of your license.

The scematic shows a pi while there are three coils in the pictures.

Time to call tentec.

Good afternoon,

The problem seems to have been the input filter, exactly why I have not
figured out. I pulled that filter and put a jumper in its place and "bingo"
no SWR on 40 (or the other bands) and full power out as it should.

The "PI" filter (actually is more complicated than a PI - it has a third
inductor and Capacitor to ground tapped from the middle of the inductor part
of the PI. I imagine that part is designed to pull certain higher
frequencies to ground.

Now I want to modify it so that it will OP on 10 and 12 Meters. Has anyone
gone through this MOD?
