To my ears, the new NR in 2.044A works better than 2.039D, but I recognize  
that that is subjective.  Otherwise, you're right: it's mainly about the  
sweep display, which I never used much anyway.  I never had a 565 Orion, so  
I can't comment about 1.372.

Other than fixing the sweep "picture",  what did this upgrade provide over 
39d?  I personally had no issues  with 39d, and felt the NR was excellent.

My only "real" request would  be that the AGC circuit go back within the 
DSP 
loop as it was in  1.372.
