Don't know if Astron supplies are "everything they could be", but have been 
using the same VS-50M for 23 years now, with no problems until just a couple 
of weeks ago when the power on/off switch finally broke internally after all 
the switching on & off over the years.  Called Astron to order a new switch, 
and they sent one, no charge for the switch or for mailing.
