Thanks Kim.  Nobody has provided the answer I was looking for except I think I 
might be able to extract part of what you said re "miniature push-in".   

Since SMA is Sub Mini version, then the "MP" of TMP may well represent 2/3rds 
of the answer .  That would leave the "T" which unlike TNC will not mean 
Threaded since it's a push on (in) connector, right?.  And I do not think the T 
in TMP represents an inventors name (e.g. Tom, Taiko, etc) such as the "NC" 
does in BNC or TNC.   

This probably is not relevant enough to continue on this thread.    As long as 
a cable with a connector that properly matches the connector on a board or 
panel, of course that is all matters.  I was just curious.
