One cause for the problem is running a logging program that does not use
RTS/CTS handshaking. This causes the Omni VII to sometimes receive
garbage messages and develop a transmit offset. The fix is to power off
and back on and make sure the logging program uses RTS/CTS handshaking
to communicate with the Omni VII.
