THHN is a single conductor, and comes in several colors. House wiring can also be bought with several colors inside an overall outer jacket, both twisted and untwisted. The outer jacket can be removed (slit it with an exacto knife) and the individual conductors can be used. Twisting is VERY good for power wiring, but NOT for winding chokes.
