The answer is a resounding YES.   The implementation of the RF Gain, as it 
is integrated with the AGC system, makes for effective performance with 
regard to signal vs. noise.

 One of the features I always liked about the Omni VII was its broadly 
tuned RF gain which had the ability to reduce noise while appearing to 
enhance or maintain the signal you are trying to hear. In your opinion 
does the Eagle's RF gain function similarly? Most RF gains including K3's 
reduce noise and signal and do it at the maximum nearly fully clockwise 
position.
