It is manifest this little peccadillo is sufficiently annoying to induce you to fix it. And why not? I think you should fix it and enjoy the heck out of it when it returns in a week or so. The cost of repair will be far less than the price of any new rig of any stripe.

Otherwise, you may not not enjoy the rig at all - especially if you gotta futz with it to get it to work. You cannot just sell it without mentioning the problem, unless the buyer has the opportunity to inspect the goods with a reasonable chance of discovering the problem, himself, before closing the deal. You can either eat the cost of repair now, and enjoy the rig as it is supposed to be; or slice the cost of repair off the sale price.

Moreover, TT recently returned the rig with a clean bill of health, I predict TT will take very good care of you in resolving this issue. I had a similar issue on a repair order, and TT was super fair about who at what on the final invoice. It was such a good experience, I considered the purchase of a used Orion II a good risk.

Just MY take...

I agree about the radio, which I like very much.

I think the choices are to send it in for a look and fix, or to operate it
like this, with the XIT on as described while I decide what the future
looks like. Maybe it's time for that K3 or even a Flex 5000 or something
like that.
