I've been playing with these N4PY "Step" buttons a bit.
As Bob said, they completely solve the problem.
Not finished experimenting, but I seem to like 5 Hz the best.
I need to play a bit and find the best set for me.
I think 5, 10, 25 will be what I settle on.
Next, I need a tuning knob that will follow the steps defined by the
software.
Too bad there is no way to have the steps of the software apply to the
Eagle's VFO knob.
Maybe a pod is the way to go.
Wood Box is nice but sorry, it costs more money than what I paid for my new
(used) Scout.
I really liked the Ergonomics of the Ten-Tec POD, but it won't play with the
Eagle and even if it did, it would probably follow the steps of the Eagle
and not the steps of the software.

In the N4PY program, there are 6 step buttons. The values for each of these
buttons can be set to anything you want. All the step settings are in the
"Steps" settings window including which step size you want to be the default
for each mode.
