Interesting, but so far just marketing fluff.

I'm skeptical about the effectiveness of the Collins filters.
Sure they sound good, because they have skirts like a female square dancer!

Unless my memory deceives me, the Triton was not the first 50 or 100w SSB
transceiver.
I think that honor goes to SWAN with its SS-100 (50w) and SS-200 (100w).
However Ten-Tec had the Argonaut 505 before the two Swans came out.

I used a Swan SS-100 on my first DX-pedition to Andorra in 1975.
The other op with me (now 5Z4EE) had purchased it new when it first came out
but I can't remember when exactly that was.

It was a very close race and perhaps I'm wrong, but I believe Swan was first
by an inch.
However shortly thereafter SWAN went out of business, so it didn't help them
much.

Then if my memory serves me right, the OM who designed the two SS
transceivers founded Atlas after leaving Swan.

This one may get off the ground and would probably be the last analog
transceiver ever built new.

Ten Tec did the first solid state design with Argo/Triton.

I have a Corsair II with Inrad 2.8's and N4YG DDS. It's a great sounding,
simple desktop radio.

I also use an OMNI 6 Plus with 100% analog. You have to take the audio out
to external powered speakers before it gets to the DSP.

My best friend has my old Omni (A) from 1979.

I will try to borrow it and compare.
May take a while, though.
