They come from pin 2 ("key-in") and pin 8 ("key-out") of the FT-1000MP BAND
DATA connector.

. Look into the FT1000MP OPERATING MANUAL. Find the layout of the BAND DATA
connector, located on the top-right corner of page 4. Note that the DIN-8
connector pins are numbered in a special order: not successively but as
follows:

                  2-----------------TX GND - to KEY-IN
               4 5
   +13V---o---1 6 3----------------GND - two shields
          | 7 8---o------TX INHIBIT - to KEY-OUT
          | |
           ----10kOhm----

(DIN-8, as viewed from the transceiver's rear panel "BAND DATA" and from the
soldering side of the male cable connector)

pin1 (+13V) - left from the center,
pin2 (TX GND) - on the top,
pin3 (GND) - right from the center,
pin4 (BAND DATA A, not used) - above pin 1,
pin5 (BAND DATA B, not used) - above pin 3,
pin6 (BAND DATA C, not used) - the central,
pin7 (BAND DATA D, not used) - below pin 1,
pin8 (TX INHIBIT) - below pin 3.

Hi Carter,

So let's start with just the "keying" circuit to place the amplifier into
transmit. This is driven by the FT-1000mp relays. The FT-1000MP should show
the pin connections for the DIN connectors on the back of the FT-1000mp.
Since I have an FT-2000, I would not want to assume that the "transmit to
gnd" pins are the same as on the FT-1000mp. There should be a pin out (2
wires out of the DIN connector)which goes to gnd when you place the
FT-1000mp into transmit using PTT. That should then go to the "PTT/VOX"
connector on the rear of the Centurion. That will then place the Centurion
into transmit when you key the PTT on the FT-1000mp. To run full QSK, you
will need to see where the "key in/ key out" signals come from to go to the
amplifier.

Hope this helps,

What I ran across (and can't find) was much more specific, showing the
actual plugs/pin number connections required on the 1000MP and where they
went to on the Centurion.
