Denton,

Turn your mic gain all the way down and try switching with the mic's ptt
switch again.
Check if it still goes to fault on 160m.
I have a hunch that the noise of the switch is applying audio, thus RF power
and that is triggering the fault.

Not sure how to fix it but if we can determine that is the cause, then at
least we have a starting point and something to work with.

An update...went thru the usual when going from barefoot to an
amp..connectors, coax check, chokes, grounding, etc.
Got it relatively tamed.but I also notice that when using the mic switch on
any mic will cause the agc light to come on when switching from transmit to
receive.
That will cause the amp to go into fault mode on 160.
If I use an external ptt switch using the aux cable, this does not occur.
I swapped out the Orion for my Omni 7 this am and this problem does not
occur.
Pin 1 problem? guess could call TT in a few days and see what they say.
