IMHO: The K3 DSP implementation, although modern, and although VERY adjustable,
pales in comparison to the usability, and effectiveness,  of the DSP in both
modern Icom rigs, and my TS-590SG.  I also think the auto notch function on my
Omni VI+ to be one of the best at notching a carrier whilst not degrading
audio, AND I prefer having the ability to have the auto notch on, AND be able
to adjust the manual notch as well. It can be a VERY effective tool on SSB to
have BOTH active at the SAME time. No modern Icom offers that option. (Good
reason to hold onto the Datong FL-3, and Autek QF-1A).  I mostly rag-chew, but
do occasionally try to dig a weak SSB signal out of the mud. These are my
personal observations, and YMMV.

I have been saying for years, all I want from a radio is an Omni 6+, with
modern DSP, SSB audio that does not make me grab for a bottle of Motrin,
retaining the momentary VFO flip function for a quick listen on the TX
frequency, visible buttons or knobs for all functions and a useful notch filter.

I found that radio, it’s called a K3…

Are you listening Ten Tec?
