ED, Most of us are changing the 3 capacitors on the A9 board. This is the power
distribution board. While your in there change the battery.

Just my suggestion.

Confess to general lack of knowledge regarding Orion so perhaps
question obvious. I have a chance to buy an Orion at an attractive
price, but owner says it has a problem of losing PLL lock. Turning rig
off and then on fixes problem for awhile and then it will happen again.

Is this a problem that has at least a set of probable causes and
diagnosing and fixing can be done with a reasonable investment of time
and money? Or is this one of those problems that may be
unfixable and may lead to it becoming a brick?
