I've only used the Delta II, and that was just once in a contest at a friends.  
Besides the difference in IF frequency between the Scout and Argonaut II, isn't 
the filter in the Delta/Argonaut II also with a variable passband?  The Jones 
filter in the Scout, on the other hand, has only a fixed center frequency, so 
adjusting the bandwidth only and a much simpler filter.  I could easily be 
wrong, as it has been several years since I touched that Delta II.
