I have a 96-2 at my mainland QTH. I only bought it because I did not
want
to stack a 40 meter beam over a tribander. I set everything for CW, and the
bandwith shows it. I don't know how you can compare s/n between beams, or
was it meant to say gain?
My last setup on the mainland was a KT34XA with a 40CD2 on top. This
worked well and I would consider this about this best setup for contesting.
All Hygain antennas are well bulit and will outlast a KT34XA and most
other beams.
For my two cents, M square makes the best mechincally made antennas and
the best design for the money.
