W0AIH once told me he had a commercial testing lab do pull tests on a
variety of guy wire terminations.  I believe he had them test to
destruction NiCo-Press fittings, crosby clamped connections and PLP
grips ("preforms") on 0.250" guy strand.

The only thing I remember is that the guy strand terminated with a
NiCo-Press fitting broke right at the fitting under tension.  The
fitting did not fail, although I believe the tensile strength of the guy
strand had been reduced somewhat by the fitting.

Of course, all the tests were performed on PROPERLY installed
terminations.  Your mileage may vary on installations not supervised by
the wise.
