Hello everybody,

I have recently purchased an Alliance HD-73 rotor, second hand, from
U.S. Price was OK and it seems that the unit have never been installed
(hardware in "new" condition). I plan to use it to turn an A3 beam.
Unfortunately, the rotor came without any manual. Therefore, I have
several questions for you:

1. Is this rotor strong enough for the intended application ? I
plan to use it directly on top of a 2 inch aluminium mast, without a
thrust bearing, with an upper mast no longer than 2 feet (I have two
sets of mounting brackets).
2. Is this unit designed only for 60 Hz AC ? I tested it on the
bench via an 220/120 transformer, but the transformer inside the control
box get very hot and the motor sounds somewhat funny (it has an 28 VAC
motor-I think). Please remember that in YO-land, the mains is 220V/50Hz.
3. Is there a way for me to get a manual for this rotor ?

Thank you very much. Any help is appreciated.

73 de Mike, YO3CTK
