Why bury?
I used to bury, but gave up and now use aluminum fence staples (a 6
inch wire with a hook at one end available from hardware stores
selling chain link fence supplies). I 'staple' about every 1 1/2
feet or 3 feet where people/lawn mowers walk and don't bother in
other areas.
After a year or so, the grass/weeds/green stuff has grown over it
anyway and some of the wire has sunk underground also.
