The crossover points of typical 4 square configurations
are only down 2 dB, but think how much effort we expend
to get 2 dB on other bands!

2 dB equals the difference between 1000 W and 1500 W.

2 dB equals the difference between a 3L and 5L Yagi.

2 dB equals the difference between a single antenna and a stacked pair.

If you are comfortable throwing away 2 dB, OK, don't do anything.
If you are planning a NEW system, it is worth going for the most
optimum configuration / orientation. This becomes even more
important if you optimize your 4 square for increased gain which
results in a more narrow pattern and deeper nulls at the crossover.
