Hi Bill
I had the same problem here. This fall, I started checking
things out, and found the 20 meter monobander had a SWR of less
than 1.5 to 1 over the entire band. Made me smile till I
remembered it never did that before.
I checked the feed line and there was a split where it had been
rubbing against the tower. I peeled back some of the insulation
on the outside of the cable,and it was all black and cruddy. I
replaced the feedline, and now the SWR is back to normal again.
Sure was nice to have that flat response for a while :-). Funny
thing was, it still seemed to work OK. 73
