Mark,

The wind load capacity of the tower should be similar to 34' of
freestanding Rohn 45G. According to the
Rohn catalog, 100' of Rohn 45 bracketed at 33' and 66' provides a 70 MPH
wind load capacity of 5.5 sq ft -
enough for a small 3 element tribander with no safety factor. At 80 MPH
they derate this to 2.0 sq ft.
My guess is that this is roughly equivalent to your installation since both
cases call for 34' of tower
above the top bracket location. Can you guy the tower?

Subject: [TowerTalk] House Bracketed ROHN 45G Question

Hello All:

I have a question that I thought someone on the reflector might be able to
answer. I have a 40 foot high ROHN 45G tower. The concrete base was sized
and installed according to ROHN specs for a house bracketed tower. There
are two house brackets mounted according to ROHN specs with respect to load
handling capability. However, they are mounted at 8 feet and 16 feet
instead of the 16-35 feet called out in the ROHN specification.

My question is this. I have another section of 45G that I would like to add
to bring the tower to 50 feet. If I add the section, what would be the load
handling capacity of the tower with the house brackets left at their
current heights of 8 and 16 feet? Also, I live in a 70 MPH wind zone.

Thanks in advance for the help.

73, Mark...
