for 4-squares i run a wire between the bases of the elements to make
a square, then run radials out from that so they don't overlap. then
you can run from the square into the middle so they don't overlap
either. the last set of radials i had on the ground i soldered the
end of each radial to a 50-60 penny galvanized nail and used that to
pin the end to the ground. recently all my radials have been raised
so i don't have to do that anymore.
