I'm sure that many people have left for their OWN reasons,
which may or may NOT be the same as yours. Maybe
they said all they wanted to say on the topics they wrote
about. Maybe they get too much e-mail from too many
sources and simply dropped out to reduce the load.
Personally, I enjoy the (limited) variety of topics on
TowerTalk. Typically, most topics run their course
fairly rapidly and we move on. Haranging over off-topic
criticism only prolongs the process.
One of the things I particularly enjoy about TowerTalk
is the pool of knowledgable contributors who I have come
to know over a broad range of topics. This helps me to
understand where they are coming from on new topics
and gives me a trusted group to turn to when I have
questions. I still find TowerTalk to be the most polite
and well behaved Reflector I have been associated with,
even when strong opinions are expressed. Almost always
they come from frimly held beliefs and are NOT personal
attacks.
How long do you think the BEVERAGE reflector would last?
Or the 48 ft boom MONOBANDER reflector?
The TRIBANDER reflector would probably endure longer
with the understandable loss of the BIG GUN station owners.
I expect careful selection of the focus will be the key
to success of any new venture.
Again, I prefer getting my input from one common reflector
and filing individual messages in separate topic related
folders (I have over 100), maintaining my own archives.
My only complaint is that people tend to forget to change
the SUBJECT line when the topic of discussion shifts.
