I have used a horizontal loop at my Georgia Island home for the past 10
years. Originally it was an 80 meter loop but I added about 20 feet
to get it through the trees. It is laying on tree branches. I have used
50 ohm coax feed and ladder line and my old MFJ tunes it to 1 to 1
on all bands (including WARC) from 80 to 10. Running 100 watts I have
worked well over 6K QSOs on the IOTA freqs on 20, 15, and 10.
I also won the SE Division for low power in 1992 in the ARRL SSB DX. I
worked several Europeans and South Pacific on 40 and even worked three
Europeans on 75. Height varies from 33' to 50 feet. Shape is a twisted
rectangle.

I did try to load it on 160 and the tuner got it down to 1:1 but this trip I
had a 500 watt amp and it caused an arc from the roller inductor to a nearby
screw (not brass). The amp worked on all the other bands with no problems
with the tuner.

My lot size is 65 feet by 120 feet with three big trees and a house on the
lot.
