You might be referring to "Sting Kill" which has an ammonia smell.  "Skeeter
Stick" has lidocaine in it and I use it as a first choice because it seems to
take the itch/pain away almost instantly. We grow some pretty big mosquitoes in
Texas hi hi.  I try to get the kids in my Boy Scout troop to carry one or the
other, but they have to get a few good mosquito bites before they remember to
bring it on campouts.  Both Sting Kill and Skeeter stick have a small clip on 
the
barrel like you'd find on a pen to hold it in a shirt pocket.
