I like my mini butane torch - got it at Home Depot - it is about 6" tall 
and tyhe body is cylindrical about 1 1/2" diameter... there is a clicker 
on it to start the flame and a nice valve on it to control the flame... 
of course since it is a flame it is subject to being blown out and as 
such you still have to pposition yourself to block out the majority of 
the breeze... it is almost a one hand operation - the only time when you 
need your second hand is to adjust the valve - although if you are 
dextrous you can do that as well...
