Last week, someone pointed out that the drawing on a Glen Martin web page
shows the cable clamps incorrectly positioned (ie: backwards). I sent an
e-mail to Glan Martin informing them about their error.

Below is what I received back from them. Interesting.....

Sir:

Thank you for your comments.
You might be surprised to find out that the graphic on the page you listed
is correct.

The graphic listed on this page is for Kevlar Cable. Kevlar Cable is very
different from conventional Steel Cable. It should be installed using the
diagram presented.

Steel cable, on the other hand, should be installed as you said, "Never
saddle a dead horse."

Hello,

Your drawing of guy wire and cable clamps on:

http://www.glenmartin.com/catalog/page18.html

is wrong. You show the saddle of the clamp on the dead end of the guy line.
That is not the correct way to do it. Everyone knows you should "Never
saddle a dead horse." However, there will be hams who are not so educated
who will follow your picture because they trust what you say.

The drawing is just plain wrong and could possibly create a hazardous
situation.

You may want to look into correcting it.
