I put up a temporary antenna for the CQ WW Phone contest. The antenna is an old Hy-Gain 204BA and it was up for five days in Aruba. The 204BA rattled whenever the wind blew, which is all the time and it was worse in light winds. I did not install rope in the elements. I have many antennas that don't rattle and don't have ropes. Is it the swaged tubing that causes this and is there a cure? Does the rope really eliminate it? John KK9A P40A |
