Contrary to seemingly popular opinion,
the HAM-M *DOES* have a brake.
The biggest difference is that the Ham IV
has a steel ring gear vs. the 'potmetal' gear
(whatever popmetal is) in the Ham-M.
I have a refurbished HAM-M that served me well
for 25 years without a failure. The wires finally
fell off and the terminal strip appears to need replacing.
