The B&W site says this....

Q: Does the terminator (balancing network) create losses?

No, it does not create losses. It dissipates losses from the ever present lack of perfect antenna efficiency. No antenna is a perfect radiator. In transmit mode, the terminator absorbs energy that did not get radiated out of the antenna. In most antenna systems, this gets carried back to the rig where it can do
serious damage. For a terminator to create losses, it would have to have a low impedance. Our unit has a high impedance.

and the July 2003 Pop Comm Magazine quote B&Ws President...

"The termination only dissipates energy that otherwise did not get radiated out of the antenna due to impedance mismatch and radiator inefficiency. In other words, if the SWR was 1:1 and the antenna wire was a perfect radiator, the termination would dissipate 0 watts."

I will look into the sky loop published by the ARRL (http://www.arrl.org/tis/info/Loop-H.html) too. Thanks for all the advise, but more, for the EDUCATION!!!

Hard to believe the B&W T2FD would outperform the G5RV, since the B&W

Because of problems with the "ARRL.NET" forwarding system and Earthlink,
I have abandoned that service. Please REMOVE "k6rix@arrl.net" from your
address book and replace with "k6rix@earthlink.net" Thank You!
