I'll toss in that I agree, a good Homeowner's policy is sufficient in most
cases.  I had EMP damage to quite a lot of electronic gear, including ham
gear, from a nearby lightning strike several years ago and my insurance
company sent out an adjuster, who inspected the damaged goods, completed a
form, and authorized payment for complete replacement value of everything
damaged.  No special riders required, just standard Homeowner's coverage
from State Farm.  I fixed almost everything myself and put the insurance
proceeds into my kids' college fund..... WB2WIK/6
