In my non structurally educated opinion, yes this would greatly impact the 
integrity of the tower.  And if I may be so bold, what type of load are you 
going to put on top of a self supporting tower actually designed to be guyed, 
up at 60 ft, that would require a Big Boy?  Something to me doesn't feel right 
about this plan.  Check out the Alfa Spid worm gear rotator.  It is smaller in 
profile to a Big Boy and would not need a brace to be removed, if it meets your
