Hey Mike,
since you are going to be on a free standing tower how about considering a 2
element
Quad. It can also be reduced sized, and you can also vertically polarize the
feed for
less interaction. Free standing towers are perfect homes for these type of
antennas.
This antenna also would play real well at this height too. my 2.75 cents

Cheers

I am looking for suggestions or comments on 2 ele 40m beams.

I am going to be putting up a Trylon 64ft self supporting tower with a
SteppIR 4 ele beam and would like a reasonable 40m beam.

Interaction is a concern.

I have heard good and bad things about the "new" Cushcraft xm240. I have
seen nothing on the Hy-gain Discoverer 72 and have hesitations because of
the ownership. The Optibeams look interesting but are sure pricey. The
Force 12 Mag 240 might be a player too. I work phone and cw.

Any comments greatly appreciated.
