OK Towertalkers:

I spent some time this afternoon trying to help a fellow ham figure out
what model a Hy-Gain tribander he's acquired (used) might be.

It's a Hy-Gain, for sure. I can tell by all the hardware used.

It's a 3 el, looks like a TH3. But, my TH3 at home has two sets of
traps on each element half, this tribander only has one set on each
element half. There are no markings on the traps.

There was no matching network hardware on the driven element or along
the boom. This antenna was in the air at an SK's house and taken down
as-is. The feedline was hoseclamped directly to each half of the
driven element. I do know the SK who had this antenna had bought it
used himself; I am guessing that this hardware is just missing.
Maybe not?

Any wild*ss guesses out there for me to pass along?

Scott W4PA
