It isn't the 45# with a 12 foot lever arm that is the problem, it is the 80
mph wind gust of 30 pounds per sq ft x the 12 sq ft x the 12 foot lever arm
that bends the mast and bends the tower. The windload with the tower
vertical can be 8 times worse than the static load when the tower is tilted.
At least it is a crank up tower that folds over, so you won't need a crane
to fix it unless you can't lower it. Self Supporting Towers in Texas seldom
are!
