Those long skinny leads from the BN86 to the feedpoint form a high  impedance 
transmission line. It is fairly short in electrical degrees but will  run the 
impedance around the Smith Chart circle a surprising amount. This is  easily 
modeled with transmission line software. No doubt the Hygain engineers  
included this effect in their overall design.
