My intention here was precisely to avoid splintering -- I think there is a 
need for a group that is broader than just remote bases - but if that's all 
people are interested in, there's no harm in there being a group dedicated 
to that as well.  I think one of the geniuses of towertalk is that, rather 
contrary to its title, it covers towers, rotators, feedlines, antennas, 
materials, etc. I'd like to see a single reflector with similar breadth 
devoted to, as the title suggests, automation -- everything from software, 
to networking to automatic antenna switching systems to band decoders to 
SO2R boxes.
