I have 3 verticals on 40 and they work very well.  They are in a triangle 
shape, spaced 1/4 wave.  I am just using a phasing line to switch them and I 
see very good nulls.  With the arrangement I have, the array is switchable 
in 6 directions.  Original article was in the June '66 CQ magazine.  73
